Cookies & Local Storage

Lynko uses strictly necessary storage to run the service, and — with your consent — optional analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. Non-essential cookies are only set after you accept them via our cookie banner, in line with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR.

Strictly necessary

• Authentication session — a token in localStorage that keeps you signed in. Set by Lynko. Expires when you sign out or after roughly 7 days of inactivity.
• Cookie preference — lynko-cookie-consent in localStorage to remember your choice on this device (12 months).
• UI preferences — a few small values in localStorage (for example your last-used theme) so the app remembers your choices on this device.
• Stripe checkout — when you open the embedded checkout to pay, Stripe sets its own cookies (e.g. __stripe_mid, __stripe_sid) and may load scripts from js.stripe.com and checkout.stripe.com for payment processing and fraud prevention. These are only set on pages where you actively start a payment. See Stripe's cookie policy.

Analytics (optional — consent required)

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site usage (pages viewed, traffic sources, device type). Analytics cookies are only set if you click Accept on the cookie banner. Google Consent Mode v2 is enabled, so if you reject or ignore the banner no analytics cookies are set and no personal identifiers are sent.

• _ga, _ga_1XJJQFSML1 — set by Google Analytics to distinguish users. Duration: up to 13 months. Controller: Google Ireland Ltd.

Legal basis: your consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and PECR reg. 6). You can withdraw consent at any time using the button above, which will delete the cookies on your next visit. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising, remarketing, or Google Signals — ad storage and ad personalisation remain denied.

What we don't do

• No Meta Pixel, TikTok pixel, Hotjar, or session-replay tools.
• No advertising or re-marketing cookies.
• No fingerprinting or cross-site identifiers on card taps.

Managing cookies

Use the button above to change your preference, or clear cookies and localStorage from your browser's settings. Clearing storage will sign you out and reset your preferences. Blocking the Stripe cookie will prevent you from completing a payment.
